MS Access and Platform Independence

Hi,
Currently, I run my project developed in JAVA on Windows NT that uses MS Access.
But my users want to make use of the platform independence of Java and want to use Sun machines to run this project. The problem is how to provide them the database???
Is there any way we can run the project on Sun box with MS Access on Windows NT? If yes, how?
Or is there any other better solution??
