MRP0: Detected orphaned datafiles!

2834008Dec 16 2016 — edited Dec 16 2016

Hi Gurus,

We encountered following error after converting  our  old primary to physical standby  and while enabling managed recovery –

Warning: Recovery target destination is in a sibling branch

of the controlfile checkpoint. Recovery will only recover

changes to datafiles.

Datafile 1 (ckpscn 5971340637895) is orphaned on incarnation#=26

MRP0: Detected orphaned datafiles!

Recovery will possibly be retried after flashback...

Errors in file /u01/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/drhim/DRHIM1/trace/DRHIM1_pr00_130018.trc:

ORA-19909: datafile 1 belongs to an orphan incarnation

ORA-01110: data file 1: '+DATAC1/DRHIM/DATAFILE/system.4327.915122563'

As defined in the  metal ink note - 1509932.1 - I could see there are some difference in primary and standby  database's  incarnation number -

So I tried for following method as suggested in the metal ink note :-

1.    Reset the incarnation to the previous incarnation that matches the primary – didn’t work.

2.    consider refreshing standby control file from primary to remove unnecessary incarnation information from standby control file –didn’t work

After restoring the  control file from the primary , I  was trying to update the control file with standby file structure .

rman> catalog start with '+DATAC1/DRHIM/DATAFILE';

RMAN> switch database to copy;

RMAN-00571: ===========================================================

RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============

RMAN-00571: ===========================================================

RMAN-03002: failure of switch to copy command at 12/17/2016 02:09:36

RMAN-06571: datafile 1 does not have recoverable copy

RMAN>

But every data files that needs to be cataloged are in the same Diskgroup/Path - Still I am getting datafile 1 does not have recoverable copy error message -

Could somebody help me out to resolve this issue ?

Appreciate any helps -

Regards

Mahi
