Moving Apex out of Oracle

JPL_12Sep 16 2020 — edited Sep 22 2020

Dear forum,

The title is slightly misleading, I know Apex is running within Oracle, so I can't move it out completely.

So the next best option would be to use an Oracle XE database with Apex, and only move 99% of our data to MS SQL.

We're thinking about Restfull services to read the minimum of data into Oracle XE.

Any other tips would be welcome.

The reason:

Over the years we built a nice application in Apex we don't want to loose.

But due to the license-policies from Oracle (with databases running in clusters) it becomes unsustainable to keep all data in Oracle.

I hear from quite a lot of companies that Oracle is being pushed out. It's unfortunate, I did like PL/SQL and Apex but as Oracle seems to be keen to kill it's customerbase, we'll have to find a work-around.
