move the file to trash

Hi,

Can anybody please tell me the command to delete a file? During this time file has to be moved to Trash.I am using OEL5.0.

I have a icon in my desktop for trash.When I double click it,the nautilus shows the path as trash: .But I cant access it through terminal window.Can anybody please clarify this?
