mouse not responding when opening a VM console (on vSphere vmware)

Hi,

After performing yum updates I faced issues with the mouse when opening a VM console. Basically clicks do not work or else you have to click several times (30 times maybe) before the item is selected. For example below I have to click many times before I am able to type in the user I would like to logon:

This issue was first noted on kernel vmlinuz-4.1.12-94.3.6.el6uek.x86_64 and subsequently on vmlinuz-4.1.12-94.3.7.el6uek.x86_64. On the other hand this problem was nit there on vmlinuz-4.1.12-61.1.27.el6uek.x86_64. The vmware tools are up to date and the HW version is 11. This VM is running on VMWare vCentre 6.0.0.

Any ideas how to sort it out?
