mouse event on treeItem

i have a treeview , i can select a treeItem but i am not able get which treeItem is selected .

this is the sample treeview structure

root

>subroot
>sample // i want to get this item

i used setOnMouseClicked for the treeView not able to get the selected treeItem.

please help.
