Mounting /proc more than once

807567Aug 22 2005 — edited Sep 10 2005
I have just gone through the process of chroot'ing iPlanet. I am talking about chrooting the entire iPlanet server, not just the cgi-bin section of the virtual server.

My biggest pain, was that iPlanet wanted access /proc. Without access the lwp that iPlanet uses would exit out and send a SIGCHLD up the chain and the iPlanet server would exit. I used the Solaris mount command and mounted /proc inside the jail, and the server now works.

My question is, will the Solaris 9 kernel be ok with this? Permissions should prevent anything happnening, but...?
