mounting filesystem in read/write mode

Hi gurus,

I have a filesystem on my linux box (RED HAT 5) which is mounted in read only mode. I want to mount it in read /write mode but if i try to unmount it i get DEVICE IS BUSY error. Kindly help me on how to bring back this filesystem to read/write mode.
