Mount Status of ASM Disk in V$ASM_DISK

DarkwingDuckJan 20 2018 — edited Jan 20 2018

When listing my ASM disks from v$asm_disk these are marked ais "CACHED".

I would expect them to be "OPEND", as Docs note:

"OPEND": This is the normal state for disks in a database instance which are part of a Disk Group being actively used by the instance.

What is the meaning of "actively used"? My english isn't the best, so I would thing "the instance is reading and writing" to the disks.

As my system is a test system so there is no load on the system, therefore they are noted as CACHED.

However:

"CACHED": This is the normal state for disks in an Automatic Storage Management instance which are part of a mounted disk group.

However, the database is opend.

THX for your help.

Christian
