Monitoring with nagios:check_logfiles

user10650608Jan 19 2010 — edited Jan 19 2010
Hi,

I'm planning to use check_logfiles to monitoring oracle logfiles. The implementation for the alertlog seems to be easy, see:
http://labs.consol.de/lang/en/nagios/check_logfiles/

cause it is possible to store the alertlog in a table. My question is: Can I store logfiles from RMAN in a table too? I'm not skilled with RMAN... we have a repository-database, and I looked for logs in this database, but I can't find them...(if they exists).

Not so important, but it would be nice to know: Is it possible to store the logs of a datapump-export in a table?!

thx for help

PS using nrpe and nagios_plugins on the database-servers is (at the moment) not possible :-(
