Monitor db_recovery_file_dest space usage for alerts

User_U66YKApr 27 2018 — edited Apr 29 2018

Hi,

I have a DB with flashback enabled.

Version: 12cR2

Flashback Rentention = 1 Day

Understand that it's normal for the flash recovery area to be full and oracle will try to retain as much flashback logs as possible and will only automatically delete it when space are required for archivelogs.

My question is the filesystem utilization of flash recovery area always appear to full and such monitoring on filesystem utilization may cause false alarms.

Do anyone have a better method (script, etc) to monitor the actual usage in order to send alert for manual action (eg, housekeep archivelogs, etc) if the space is really full?

thanks
