"Mobile First," an often-repeated mantra in industry press and vendor collateral, is a nutshell description of a development strategy that recognizes and capitalizes on the undeniable explosion in the use of mobile devices for pretty much everything people used to do with computers that would never fit into a pocket. There's a great deal of logic in that strategy. After all, the chances are very good that your first engagement with any business happens on your mobile phone or tablet.
But despite that logic and the supporting evidence, to what degree is "mobile first" actually driving enterprise development? More to the point: how much of your time is devoted mobile first projects? Is mobile first a priority at your company or among your clients? If so, describe what you've been doing. If not, why not? What are the obstacles to adopting that strategy?
