Oracle Database Discussions

After "shutdown abort" and startup of one oracle instance, it looks like an archive log file is missing. While I was looking around, I found that v$log showed "ARCHIVED='YES'", even though there was no archive1_347.dbf file. Since then, update activity caused a log switch, so I suspect that the missing log file is "permanently missing". Is there something I could have done to force oracle to archive sequence# 347 while the data was still in redo01.log?
