My feature request for the ability to
Save/Restore Workspace, has been updated to status "In release 1.1" with the additional comment "Done or we need more information" from the SQL Dev team.
Anthony Maslowski has also commented "I think this was mis-interpreted by dev" - which I see as a correct summation :-) - and gone on to correctly interpret my intention with this request, providing "more information" as requested.
The idea is that when I'm about to be slung out of the building at night, if I have a SQL Developer session with multiple open editors, reports, ad hoc queries, unit test blocks, and debuggers, with panes and tabs set up
just so; lots of open connections, expanded Navigator nodes, bookmarks and breakpoints - that I select an option to "Save Workspace", give it a name, and the state of the session - window/pane/tab positions & layouts, objects and files open therein, contents of worksheets, open connections, result grid column orders and widths etc etc - is saved as a SQL Developer workspace. When I arrive back next morning, I double click on the saved workspace file and SQL Developer opens up as I left it, prompts for passwords for the saved connections as it opens them, and I'm ready to go where I left off.
