mirroring question

one of my critical NetraX1 is:
$ uname -a
SunOS bacall 5.9 Generic_112233-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,UltraAX-i2

currently, I have forgot to mirror second disk, and I need add the mirror ASAP.

Normally when I do mirror, I do:
1. # metainit -f d1 1 1 c0t0d0s0
2. # metainit d2 1 1 c0t2d0s0
3. # metainit d0 -m d1
4. # metaroot d0
5. # lockfs ?fa
6. # reboot
7. # metattach d0 d2

but, currently, the machine has be done the step 1-4. and on the service which should not be reboot without higher level's permission.

Quistion:
1. Can I stip the step 5 and 6, that means no reboot machine and just do metattach?
2. Does the actually mirroing activity cause any problem when all the service on? do I need stop all the service?
