Migration problem / Seen messages turned unseen

Hello ,
I am planning to migrate from
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-3.04 (built Jul 15 2005)
libimta.so 6.2-3.04 (built 01:43:03, Jul 15 2005)
SunOS mail 5.10 Generic_118833-33 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240
to
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-0.15 (built Feb 9 2007)
libimta.so 6.3-0.15 (built 19:27:56, Feb 9 2007)
SunOS mail 5.10 Generic_118833-36 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240
I have tested the following procedure :

1- create users on the new machine ( I have a script that creates the users from the ldif export )
2- copy the users mailboxes
3- start the messaging server

The users can see all the mails and the folders, But all the messages are unseeen.
I read from the forums that read/unread messages are stored in store.usr file , yet i matched the two files on the new and old servers , They are the same !

Any ideas on how to cater this issue. If their is a way to forcefully make all messages as read, that would do , cause all read is better than all unread to the end user.
regards
yasir
