Migration from Solaris Sparc to Linux 64 bit, 80+ TB database on 11.2.0.3 and also upgrade to 18c

SanjayGupta1992Jan 19 2019 — edited Jan 20 2019

Looking for suggestions to Migrate & upgrade 80+ TB of database on Solaris Sparc to Linux 64 bit. Currently backup takes about 4 days to complete. Assume that we can get downtime of 24 hrs to do platform migration.

Option 1:

Looking Golden Gate option, technically it should be possible but I need to transfer full database/all schema etc. In Golden Gate, is there option to do full database or need to configure each schema extract/replicate etc. Also I think 80+TB initial load would be tricky. Any suggestions .

Option 2:

Migration of An ASM Diskgroup Across OS Platform (Doc ID 1566352.1)

Looks like this option is not supported. Is it possible to take snapshot of ASM devices ( storage side) , kind of mirror copy and present on other side ( Assume that initially we are running same version of ASM & database but different endian format) so need to covert al datafiles using rman. I know that this option is not supported so may not be worth to pursue

We can do one processĀ  at a time e.g. do only platform migration first and then do upgrade later, if that makes thing easier.

So looking for suggestions and recommendations.

Thanks a lot.
