Hi all,
I've got a project in the Company I've been working for and it consists in migrating our OEM 12c environment to another infrastructure. I mean, we have an environment running OEM 12c App and its repository in a RAC database. But now the Company has bought an Exalogic and an Exadata machine and we've got an OVM in the Exalogic with a new OEM 12c App installed and another repository running in the Exadata. So it means we have a brand new OEM 12c environment available.
But this environment is much smaller than the old one, with less targets and less functionalities running but its computing resources are really bigger (CPU + Memory, etc). The question is that the Company has asked us to migrate all the old environment to the new environment.
Old environment:
OEM 12 App - Version 12.1.0.5.0 running in a VMWare virtual machine
Repository - Version 11.2.0.4.0 running in a RAC database in a common infrastructure
New environment:
OEM 12 App - Version 12.1.0.4.0 running in a OVM virtual machine in a Exalogic
Repository - Version 11.2.0.4.0 running in a RAC database in a Exadata
We are concerned that if we just unplug a target from on environment, remove the OMA, install the new OMA connecting to the new OMS and plug the target again into the new OMS, all the historical data from that target will be lost.
My doubt is: What would be the best migration process from the old OEM environment to the new one keeping the targets historical data?
Could anyone help me with some directions to develop a migration drawing?
Thanks a lot in advance
Regards
