Migrating Hyperion apps from windows to Linux platform

BV2925Jan 30 2018 — edited Feb 1 2018

Hi There,

We are looking at migrating the hyperion environment off of the current windows platform into Linux with source being 11.1.2.1 to 11.1.2.4 (Essbase, Planning, FR, RA) and looking for any input as to what are the considerations to take note of in case anyone as done this before.

1. As per Oracle supported release paths, this is what is mentioned. Does it mean that out of place upgrades cannot be performed or supported.

When you apply the maintenance release, you must install to the same machine as the previous installation. Out of place installations are not supported. To move to a new environment, first apply the maintenance release to move to Release 11.1.2.4, and then use Lifecycle Management      to migrate the deployment to a new environment.

2. Any considerations as to the application migration from windows to linux or is it a straight forward app copy and stage it in the stage platform which would be 11.1.2.4 and then move the apps over to the target Linux platform.

3. Will there be any issues with migrating the reports etc. to the target.

Thanks,
