Migrating existing application to the portal

Hi,
I have had some experience with migrating an existing J2EE application to the portal. Initially we migrate one part of the application to a JSR 168 portlet. The other parts are also portlets but they are just accessing the existing J2EE non-portletized application(IFrame portlets or Web Clipping portlets). This is done because if the JSR 168 portlets need the non-portletized part of the application for testing then we can use the portal itself so that we don't have any surprises later.

Does anyone have experience with this type of migration ?
