Oracle Forms

Since last half decade i related with Development of Database Application & at the moment i am trying to share some of my experiences while working with VB.net for database application.

I think VB.net provides an open architecture so u can build your own Components but the biggest problem with Microsoft is that it introduces new product rapidly but let the other products(previous) as is and did not mature its product.

I found Dataset a new method to communicate with database in .net framework 2.0 & tried to implement in my application but faces concurrencies issues so ultimately i have to use data reader to perform DML transactions which is old method to perform DML through class libraries.

we neighter compare .Net database trigger with Forms.as firing heirarchy in Oracle Forms are accurate while i face alot of error and handle a single event through multiple triggers in VB.net.

No summary/Formula item has been found so that u have to check yourself each time when ever user insert/Update/Delete any row in Data Grid View.


The look & feel of any application plays an important role as microsoft focuses more on that but still i recommend the Oracle Forms is best RAD (Rapid application Development Tool) for Database Application whats your suggestion please share so that a developer can decide a better environment for Development.
