Method to upload content in UCM from external sources

Question from a partner who wants to know the options for upload data to UCM/WC Content server using their existing Globalscape file transfer tools.

I found listed integration methods in the Dev Guide, but I wondered if anyone had specific recommendations or experience with these two.
