Memory config

510146Jul 26 2006 — edited Jul 26 2006
Hi,

I inherited of an oracle installation that was done by default. I would like to change the memory configuration that it uses.

At the moment the memory configuration is as follows :

SGA :
SHARED POOL --- 152 MB
BUFFER CACHE --- 24 MB
LARGE POOL --- 8 MB
TOTAL --- 337 MB

PGA :
AGGREGATE --- 24 MB
CACHE HIT PERCENTAGE --- 42.08%

The reason why I'm questioning this configuration is that our server is dedicated to servicing a single instance of ORACLE 9.2.0.7, it has 2GB of physical memory and at the moment it's using ~ 1GB with the instance started and the database mounted and opened.

Any advice ?
Thanks
Gabriel
