measuring IOPs

Oracle 11gR2 RHEL5

Hi all,

We are thinking of getting a new SAN and the vendor would like us to measure the IOPs for our oracle database so that they can decide on what type of disks we should get.

What would be the best method of doing this? I know I can go into OEM and under I/O it gives IOPs per function. I was thinking that I could generate a weeks worth (or monitor for a month) of a report using AWR and then use that data to determine the IOPs. Would that work? Any other suggestions?
