Maximum number of items in APEX

Hi All,

is there a way to set the maximum number of items (textfields, text areas, select lists, etc)? it only accepts a maximum of 100 items.

when > 100, apex shows "Item count exceeds maximum of 100."

what would be the effect if i continue adding more items to my page?

can we set this maximum number of items?
