Maximum Items on a Page

Hi guys

According to the Apex Wiki, the maximum number of items that can be rendered on a page is 100. This was written around apex 2.0 so i was wondering if this limit has been lifted from 3.0.1 onwards?

Also, will you get a runtime error if you have over 100 items rendered on a page or if not, what sort of behaviour can one expect if you exceed the 100 limit.
