Materialized View Log no longer needed??

537089Oct 2 2006 — edited Oct 4 2006
I came across this while reading DW guide for 10g R2 on page 29 ("What's New in Oracle Database"):

"Materialized view fast refresh involving multiple tables, whether partitioned or
non-partitioned, no longer requires that a materialized view log be present."

I tried creating a MV that joined two tables, but I get the following error:

ORA-23413: table "TEST"."ABC" does not have a materialized view log

I always understood that MV logs need to be created for fast refresh. Is the above statement right? I didn't see anything referring to that statement anywhere else in the doc. I apologize if I has missed something.
