Mapping OID and Active Directory before resync

Hello All,
I am in the process of mapping OID and AD. I am not sure if I am setting my #%USERBASE%:%USERBASE% correctly. The domain structure for AD or its structure is as such:
CN=users,DC=Tech Solutions,DC=Sys Engineering Solutions,DC=testlnk,DC=net

On the OID side the structure is as such:
CN=users,DC=testlnk,DC=net

Does the OID structure have to be the same as the AD? What is the best way to set the OID structure like the AD structure. Please help with an example.
