Mapping EDI documents to OAGIS Canonical

We are implementing Fusion Middlware and are trying to convert our EDI documents into OAGIS XML Canonical.
For example for an X12 850 Purchase Order, we are trying to see where Field BEG-353 Release Number maps to the OAGIS Canonical. So far it seems like the only way to do this is to manually find the field equivalent of a Release Number in OAGIS XML Canonical. This is way too time consuming for all our EDI documents.
Is there an easier way to do this? Are there existing Mapping documents out there that helps us see how EDI Documents map to OAGIS Canonicals?
