mapinfo, geomedia, arcGIS, and Oracle spatial interoperability

We have a mix of 3 GIS clients. We are thinking to allow the choice of any of the 3 as long as data is stored within Oracle Spatial. Are there any potential issues with allowing three different clients writing to the database, readable by the other clients? Any small nuances in how the data is stored? What about version updates, is there a chance that a new version of a client might mess things up for the other clients?
