Map chart - custom shading/ colors to mimic heat map?

Hi all,

Just looking at the maps and charts available in APEX. Ideally I'd like to see a MAP that is a "Heat map". So, a Map chart with the ability to shade certain portions of the map different colors depending on values.

I see that APEX has both a MAP chart and a Heat Map, but not a combination of both.

The next best option for me would be to tweak the Map chart to acheive this, but a quick look at my page option tells me this isn't going to be easy, if possible at all.

Can someone comment on the feasibility of this?
