Manually Copy Existing Row in Interactive Grid - 23.2.6

Joe ROct 24 2024

Version: 23.2.6

Hello,

I'm building an application to allow existing Promotions to be copied to be used again.

Background:

There are stores that use a Promotion of Items to sell on sale. When the Promotion ends, they do an analysis of the Promotion to determine how successful (or not) it was. If it was successful they may want to use the Promotion again at a later time.

This application will allow the Promotion to be duplicated, and the Items be added, removed, or modified.

I've created a Master/Detail for the data entry from the Create Page wizard. The Master and Detail are Interactive Grids.

There is business logic involved, of course, that does not allow the Auto Row Processing to be used.

When a Promotion is duplicated there is a date field that gets set to SYSDATE - 1 and the new date field is set to 12/31/7777.

The issue I'm having is when the Detail is saved any existing Items that they want to still have on the Promotion are not getting saved to the new (duplicated) Promotion. Items that are removed (deleted), updated, and new Items added are all getting saved correctly. It's ONLY any EXISTING Items are not saved. Probably because APEX doesn't know about them since nothing is changed with those Items.

Can someone help me with how to get these existing Items to get saved into the new Promotion?

What can I explain further?

Thanks,

Joe
