Manual Tabular View - Top Vertical Align Textarea and Text Fields

I have a manual tabular form with insert, update, delete.

The form has a checkbox , text fields followed by a textarea and then followed by 2 more text fields.
The textarea is 4 rows x 25 characters long.
The checkbox and the textfield are vertically centered in their cells.

I want all the fields to be aligned at the top, so that all the fields' top border aligns. I don't want the text fields and checkbox to center aligned.

I've tried setting of the text fields' "Element atrtibutes" to

style="vertical-align:top;”

but it did not work.

Please assist.
