Management Connectors HP OpenView Operations...

846341Mar 10 2011 — edited Mar 11 2011
We are usung HP Service Manager 9.2 R1 (operations version 9) and OVO Oracle SPI to monitoring databases.
And we are planned to upgrade this to Oracle SPI version 12.04.

Next to that, we want to investicate Oracle solution "Management Connector for HP OpenView Operations".

At Oracle we find out this links;
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/grid-control/downloads/devlic-082052.html

AND;
where you able to find the installation documentation as well;
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11857_01/em.111/e12861.pdf
In this documentation, (under section 1.2 Versions Supported) we see supported HP OpenView Services Desk Operations version '8'

AND:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11857_01/install.111/e12414.pdf
In this documentation, (under section 1.6 Versions Supported) we see supported HP OpenView services manager Operations version '7'

But as I explane in my first line above, we are upgrade this allreadey and using currently HP Service Manager 9.2 R1 (operations version 9)....

So here are my questions;
1: Is investicate Oracle solution "Management Connector for HP OpenView Operations" a better way to monitoring and managed Oracle databases,
for DBA's and involved managers to fallow realtime change and incident process?

2: Is all of this reduce needed HP Oracle SPI licesing..
At the Oracle shop you see major prices, for every monitored database...
