Major.minor version 48.0 Error

Iam using Eclipse3.0 and ant to build one of my Java projects, with jdk 1.3. When I try to build using ant, I get the following error

BUILD FAILED
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/sun/tools/javac/Main (Unsupported ma
jor.minor version 48.0)

Can someone help me out with this.
