We have ONE executive user that must run a Mac and access Oracle with Excel. Was able to get the new 12.2 instant client installed easily and connect to the database with sqlplus. The instant client ODBC installation is another matter entirely, since I don't know jack about Mac. Version is macOS Sierra 10.12.4.
One must know the location of the DriverManager to run the odbc_update_ini.sh script. Couldn't find any reference to a native driver manager while searching the web. Can anyone here shed some light on this?
From the installation README:
- Unzip the ODBC Instant Client package, then execute the odbc_update_ini.sh script with Driver Manager installed directory as a command line argument. (For complete syntax, please run "odbc_update_ini.sh" without any command line argument.)
- For example, if Driver Manager is installed in /home/DriverManager directory
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
