ls -lrt is not working!!!

Hi folks,

In my solaris 10 server ls -lrt is taking more time to list the files in the root directory(/). its not giving any o/p just in loading status only.

But ls is giving o/p immediately.

What could be the reason for this how can i rectify this issue please help me.
