ls command lists disorder list of file names

solaris 8 , when when type ls on /root directory it lists
two files in -dis ordered rest is fine.did any one got this before .the bold files are listing dis-order from all other

#root->ls
abcd efgh
ijkl opqr erty rtyu
123ed ding ghty ghtu
dong littl fgty ghtuyi
xxxxx yyyyyyyy fghtu gtyru
eeeee eeeeee ghtyu jihty
