Looking for Ideas to keep backups in both FRA and NFS share

user11241492Jul 30 2015 — edited Aug 4 2015

Hello,

We have requirement to store DB backups for now lets say weekly full and daily incremental's RMAN backups with a recovery window of 30 days. Database uses ASM for Storage and on-disk backups are taken in FRA. We also have Data Domain as additional backups device which is mounted as NFS share on DB server were RMAN backups can be directly written for long retention time. How could I use both DISK targets i.e. FRA and NFS share in DD to store backups and at the same let RMAN to take care of obsoleting and expiring backups beyond 30 days limit. As you might have guessed, FRA space can hold max 2 days of backups including Archive logs. We are not using DD boost here as FYI..

Oracle 11.2.0.4 EE, Linux 6.5

Appreciate any input/feedback.

Thanks,

Stan
