logs not shipping to standby

727247Jan 6 2010 — edited Jan 7 2010
Hi
10.2.0.4, Linux 4.

We have problem with logs not shipping to standby. If I defer, then enable to the destination on the standby, about 4 or 5 files are shipped then nothing. I can ping the standby from primary and also connect via sql plus.

Alert log explains
Tkrsf_al_read: No Mirror Copies To Re-Read Data logged in ARC trace files
a number of times.

Metalink Note 748425.1 suggests a patch and a workaround of using asynch (we are using asynch).

Before applying this patch recommended by Oracle (yes, we recently updated to 10.2.0.4, but that was two weeks ago and i am not sure why, yesterday, this suddenly occurred) I wanted to know if there were any other checks that anyone of you knows about.

One whispered idea was to find the process that is repsonsible for shipping the logs, and restarting it. What is this process?

Any bright ideas much appreciated.

Thanks to you in advance.
