Logminer works on archived log?

Hi,

I have a Oracle 9i on RAC(patch 7) running on a Win2K3 box that have some issues.
Last week a database on this server stopped responding because archive log area had no space to store more archived logs.
The problem is that, normally this drive stays with 10GB free space but, in some situations, more than 10GB of archive is generated in less than 10 minutes!!
When it occurs, I have to move this huge archived logs to another drive a restart Oracle.
I would like to know if exists any way using log miner(or any othter tool) that I can use to read this huge archived logs to find out why they became so big?
