Logical Model Auto Layout + Use Synonyms: Synonyms never used in Relations

Godiva MundaJul 30 2016 — edited Aug 1 2016

Hi,

I imported a database data dictionary into a relational model. Then I reverse engineered this relational model into a logical model. Finally I did some auto layouting in both models: Use Synonyms + Auto Layout 1.

The placement of the entities and entity synonyms in the logical model are the same as the placement of the corresponding tables and table synonyms in the physical model. However, the relations in the logical model aren't drawn in the same way as the corresponding foreign keys in the physical model. For some reason, entity synonyms aren't used in relations. Moreover, for every next Auto Layout 1 action in the logical model, extra entity synonyms without relations are added. This behaviour seems a bug to me.

Manually rearranging relations from entities to entity synonyms is hardly an option for me. Does anyone know how to prevent this auto layout behaviour in logical models?

Regards,

Guido
