Logging Package

Hi

I need to write a package that writes changes in data (inserts, updates, deletes) into a log tables

log_id

user

log_date

table name

column name

log_type -- INSERT UPDATE DELETE

old_value

new_values    etc

Does anybody have a link to a good blog, that will give me an example
