Log4j

I am running an example (about xml digital signature - enveloped Digital Signature) from the JWSPD 1.4. I got a message:

log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.jcp.xml.dsig.internal.dom.DOMReference).
log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.

Could someone explain the above warnings to me, please?
