Waits on event "log file sync" while performing COMMIT and ROLLBACK operations were consuming significant database time.
Wait class "Commit" was consuming significant database time.

This message comes out when we run ADDM on an instance we are trying to run an import of a large database schema into. It is taking forever...

We are on a HPUX and using ASM for all datafiles, logs etc.

I look at the disk group for the ASM instance and see nothing unusual and no alerts.

the recommendation is to "Investigate the possibility of improving the performance of I/O to the online redo log files."

but if ASM managing these redo logs, how do we "improve the performance of I/O to the online redo log files.
