Locking Issues = Problems... Sugestions please!
Hi:
I'm having some issues in some master details forms when happens a lock.
Imagine an invoice/orders form that when user tries to commit the data it locks because someone else is using a record that this transaction needs to update.
What's happening to some users in some forms I have is that Oracle Forms (10g running on IE wit jinit or sun jvm) freezes. If the user don't close the browser and waits until some timeout error or any else occurs i got data corruption... i mean... the orders data (master table ) is saved but the orders lines is not saved. This is strange cause this is a unique transaction and the master data would not be saved. Isn't it ?
What you guys out there use to track and detect possible locks?
Also, do you have any option in your apps to unlock or kill blocking sessions? Do you grant priviledge to allow users to kill session? What do you recommend to handle this locking sessions?
