Locking inactive account

Ive changed the 'inactive' field in the /etc/shadow file to 1, however the account doesnt lock after 24 hrs.

I changed the stting on Friday and it did update by monday, does solaris do something like start counting from midmight? Is having strictly 24hr lockout possible?
