LOCAL_OS_AUTHENTICATION parameter

679425Jan 12 2009 — edited Jan 12 2009
Gday all,

Can anyone provide a little insight into how the LOCAL_OS_AUTHENTICATION parameter can be disabled through the listener.ora?

I have specified LOCAL_OS_AUTHENTICATION_orcl = OFF - however I noticed that when I restart the listener, it still starts with "Security ON: Local OS Authentication"

I have been unsuccessful with finding any sort of documentation on this and I understand that by doing this, I will be lowering the security level of the listener as this is intended purpose. (Doing some testing in a dev environment)

Is there something which I have missed?

Any assistance will be much appreciated.
