Loading Excel data that resides in remote FTP

Hi Folks,
I was able to read the excel data that's residing locally by defining ODBC system DSN in local machine. How can I achieve the reading of excel that resides in a remote FTP server? How do we go about defining data sources in that case?

Any help is highly appreciated.
