Load testing Oracle 10g app server and web forms using jmeter

I am trying to load test my Oracle 10g application server that is mainly used to serve Oracle forms and reports applications. I was told that Jmeter would do the job. I was able to setup the HTTP proxy and record the first URL of opening the main menu of my application. I have a bunch of Forms and reports in a tree on that first page. When I open any module, it does not get recorded, only the first URL. Was anyone able to stress test their Oracle forms applications on an application server? any other free/low cost tools similar to Jmeter that can do the job. Our main purpose is to see how many users the server can handle.
